Hubby wants to cut JD's hair. We went forever with no hair at all , so I am VERY hesitant to lose the new baby curls. What if they don't grow back?
Still bald on his 1st birthday. |
Hubby had curly hair as a toddler, and his mom told me he used to argue that he had straight hair whenever anyone complimented him. Maybe now he's enjoying the power to cut the curls.
I, on the other hand, always wanted curly hair. It's not like JD is being confused for a girl, so can't we keep the curls?
It makes my heart melt. |
I have some time before I need to worry about O's hair. He's my new little baldy! |
My son was 14.5 months old when he had his first haircut. He had adorable curls as well and it was so hard for me I kept every single one that I cut off. BUT his hair was much longer than your sons and it was looking like a mullet. I think toddler boys look cute with longish/shaggy hair, I say once it's a mullet, starts to frizz out or look like it could go into pigtails it's time to cut!
ReplyDeleteWe're going TOMORROW for Evan's first haircut. I figured it has to happen some time, so a 2nd birthday milestone is as good a time as any. He doesn't have the curls so much, but it took SO LONG for him to grow hair at all I'm afraid he's going to end up looking bald again.
ReplyDeleteI finally got Gabe's hair cut this past December. I hated to see it go, but of course, it didn't really go anywhere. It seems he's got the Einstein thing goin' on.
ReplyDeleteFirst haircuts are tough especially when you have to face cutting off such cute curls--I’d suggest saving a couple curls in an envelope in his baby book : )

My husband ALWAYS wants the boys to have super short hair. I love it when it's a little shaggy. My middle has curly hair, so I let it grow. If it ever starts to resemble a mullet, though, the scissors come out :)
ReplyDeleteI let my first's hair grow longer. Looking back I wished I had cut it sooner. My 2nd has had a haircut every 3 weeks since he was 6mths. Both of their hair grows crazy fast. It's not really that long so I say if you wanted to wait you could.
ReplyDeletehair cut pics, sooo cute! I think when I'm a mom I might even save the hair from the first hair cut- or is that a little over board, lol... So cute and I love this fun font you have on your site as well.
ReplyDeleteMy twin boys were over 2 and looking very shaggy before we cut their hair, my daughter is 7 and still has only had a trim. The curls do grow back but are never the same as the baby curls so I say hold off, he still has very short hair.
ReplyDeleteCutting off those curly locks is so hard. I let my boys go for so long before I cut it off. Unfortunately, MIL babysat once and cut them off on one of the boys without me knowing. I wasn't too excited.
ReplyDelete@Caren with a "C" OMG! I don't know if I could ever get over that!
