First, let me get this out of the way: You do not take More Milk because it tastes good. Definitely not.
You take it because it works.
The nicer than nice people at Motherlove sent me a bottle of More Milk to try. It couldn't have come at a better time. The night before I started it, I went out to celebrate my best friend's 30th birthday. O drank 12 oz. from my freezer stash while I was gone (12 oz.!!!!!), and I had only pumped 7 oz. I was freaking out. With JD, I had milk practically coming out of my ears. He didn't take a bottle, but I still built a huge freezer stash that I used when I made his food.
By my second day taking More Milk (I took 1ml 4 times daily, as per the directions), I had a "fuller" feeling. By the fourth day, I was pumping enough to replace what he was drinking from a bottle. Now, a little over a week in, I am back to building up my freezer stash. Wooo hoooo!
And there are other things to love about Motherlove. Their products are certified organic, kosher, and cruelty free, and their Nurturing Life Foundation promotes breastfeeding and supports mothers-in-need nationwide. Throughout 2011, Motherlove will be giving 10% of More Milk sales to the Best for Babes Foundation.
Aside from More Milk, the company also sells products for pregnancy, birth, and baby. There are great resources for expectant and new moms on their website, www.motherlove.com.
**UPDATE: Two days later & I am literally leaking- like when my milk first came in leaking. I'm going to stop taking it for a bit, because I don't need it anymore! wooohoooo This is awesome.

A Few of my Favorite Things
I was invited by Shannon from living with the lowrys to join a link-up of favorite things. In future weeks, I hope to link up with a favorite new baby find, but today I am linking with something I forgot to add to my weekly phone pics recap, and it is certainly a favorite!
Hubby challenged me to a Monopoly rematch (since he is a sore loser and I beat the pants off him last time), so on nights that he was home, we played a bit of a game once the babies were asleep. And this week...
I annihilated him.
It was awesome.
Do you have a post of a favorite thing? If you do, link up!

My 4th Week in Droid Photos
Spring can't come soon enough! I am so tired of My Gym and snow pics, so I will try to keep this interesting.
Saturday Night
I went out to celebrate my best friend's 30th birthday! |
This is a pic I snapped of O on my way out. He looks like such a big boy! |
Sunday
This was Jets Day! Unfortunately is was the last one of the season. |
Monday
O turned 3 months old! |
He is fascinated by his hands.
And he is reaching for his toys. |
JD is daydreaming about being able to run around outside. |
Tuesday
JD shared his blocks with O. (Don't worry- they are super light and fuzzy.) |
Wednesday
JD is watching the snow fall from inside his little house, which is inside our house for the winter. Another day stuck inside. |
Thursday
All of our plans were cancelled, so we had a lazy family day at home.
We made scones for a morning snack, and our big piggy ate 4 of them! |
Even our pup, Ava, knew it was a lazy day. |
Friday
Owen had a go-see this afternoon, so we drove to the city.
I am soooooo glad I wore my tall snow boots! More than once I stepped off the curb into puddles of slush at least 4 inches deep. Luckily the stroller handled it even better than I expected, although we had to go out of our way a bit to find places to cross the street. |
We were on the West Side, so we got to have lunch at our favorite place :) |
The at&t store had a snowman! |
We rocked out to some Laurie Berkner Band on the way home. |
Saturday
My goal for today is to make this disappear!
Did you take phone pics this week? Post them and link up! Grab the code from Amy here. She graciously hosts this each week :) Have a great weekend!

My Response to Yesterday's Post's Comments (Because I am Frustrated That I Can't Respond to Them)
My diaper bag is awesome. I wrote about my love for it here. And I definitely don't drag it everywhere! When I went to pack it before this post, the last time I had used it was 2 weeks before when we packed it for Owen's baptism. I just stock it every few weeks and then forget it at home leave it in the car. I should have been a boy scout. I literally can't sleep if I am not 110% ready for the next day. We have a trip planned for March, and I am on my 3rd edit of my packing list. (When I was a kid, my favorite book was From the Mixed-Up Files of Ms. Basil E. Frankweiler, and I used to make detailed lists of what I would bring if was going to run away to a museum. Deranged. I know.)
Today I was gone alllllllll day, and I only pulled out diapers, bibs (both boys are major droolers- I hope they get over it by kindergarten) a couple toys, and snacks. (And I couldn't fit the diaper thing back in once I pulled it out, so that's on the front seat of my car right now.)
For every day use, I have the JL Childress Cups 'N Cargo Stroller Organizer clipped to my stroller.
In it, I have diapers, wipes, and hand sanitizer. Of course, when I reached in today to grab the hand sanitizer, it was frozen, and so were the wipes. I guess I shouldn't leave it in the trunk.
The biggest issue here for me is the comments about me being so prepared. That was eye opening, because no matter how I stuff my diaper bag, when I am out with other moms, I always feel like I don't have what I should. I am constantly feeling unprepared. Why don't I have a sippy cup? Why don't I have his favorite book? His stuffed cat? Pajamas? A flask? I have a ton of stuff, but I never seem to have what I really need for the situation. Someday I'll get it right.

I stole this pic from Amazon. It is too late and I am too tired to get the real one out of the car. That is not my stroller or my 1999 cell phone. |

Diaper Bag Tour!
I am prepping my diaper bag for an epic outing tomorrow with both boys, and I thought it was a perfect time to share with you what exactly I have floating around in there. It was also a great opportunity to clean out things I don't need (toddler can eat more things, so I don't need as many new-eater snacks) and trade out the spare clothes. (Toddler no longer fits in 12 months clothes! That could have been bad if he needed to change!)
In the small outer pockets: Travel sized lotions and cremes (you can never have too much Aquaphor), Tide-to-go pen, Madela Micro-Steam Bag, smooshed Nutri-grain bar, tissues, empty plastic bags, pacifier clip, and Booginhead SippiGrip Cup, Bottle and Toy Tether
In the bigger outer pocket: pad of paper, stickers, Crayola Twistables Crayons, straws, and my favorite hand sanitizing wipes by BabyGanics
diaper changing bag with changing pad, 2 different size diapers, travel pack of wipes, and more travel size creams.
and finally, the life savers: Manual Breast Pump and bottles, small books, Alphaberry , Boogie Wipes , infant rattle, shaker egg, smiley soccer ball, Mini Trucks, Jammy Sammy , Plum Organics snack, and GoGo SqueeZ Applesauce Pouche
So what am I missing? I'm hoping for comments that go something like: "OMG! You need x, y, & z! They make my life 10x easier!" Because I need easier!

Inside pockets: big plastic sheet I stole from a garden center, disposable placemats, more tissues, those blue pads we used to house train our puppy, disposable bibs, Take & Toss spoons, and my Udder Cover
In the big mess that is the rest of the inside: Extra outfits for the boys, receiving blankets, burp cloths, and bibs
