The adorable Natalie from Our Little Things sent me a link to this post where she gave me a "Stylish Award".
Now "stylish" is one of the last words I would use to describe myself- especially lately when finding time to shower is an accomplishment & not even my pre-pregnancy clothes fit right. (We're almost done with p90x. Thank God! I thought it would never end.) But I think this is a great way to show off some of the new blogs I've been reading and also share some info about myself.
Here are the rules:
1. Thank & link back to the blogger.
Natalie is awesome, and I am so happy that she included me on her list :)
If you don't know her, go check her out at Our Little Things! Right now!
2. Share 7 new things about myself.
hmmm This is hard.
- I am the oldest of only three kids, but I have an ENORMOUS family. My mom is one of 7, and my dad is one of 5, and most of them still live in the town I grew up in. That made for a ton of cousins around while I was growing up, and I'm kind of sad that my boys don't have any first cousins (yet, at least). Hubby, on the other hand, comes from a tiny family: one brother, two aunts, two uncles, a few cousins. He just doesn't get it.
- While googling myself to see if my blog came up, I came across some things old students wrote about me on ratemyteachers.com. Some were very cute (shes funny sometimes when she acts things out :P), some were clueless (she has an accent sometimes and sometimes not i think she purposely tries to talk like that), and some were just bizarre (she was born in england and sometimes her accent comes out). (Totally not born in England & I don't have an accent. Apparently they missed the "she acts things out" tip.) PS: I swear I taught them things like punctuation & capitalization.
- I was the first person in my family to go to college, and I received a full academic scholarship to a private university. I'm just going to let you imagine the responses I got when I majored in dance. (I went back to get my MS in English Education.)
- I now check Pinterest as much as I check twitter. If you haven't found me on there, please do!
- I have only ever had red cars. I'm not even sure I like red that much, but now it's a thing.
- I really don't like when people touch my face. Not even Hubby. I also don't like anyone touching my pillow because it touches my face. I don't know why.
- I am a huge wimp when it comes to scary/gory movies! Once, at a sleepover party, I played with the host's younger sister in another room while my friends watched Pet Cemetery. Even during shows like Grey's Anatomy, I regularly have to close my eyes, cover my ears, and hum. What complicates this is that my younger brother is studying CSI-type stuff in college, and sometimes I have to edit research papers about serial killers. I'm a good sister.
I have taken 3 snack breaks while writing this list. Writing about my boys is so much easier.
3. Tag 15 recently discovered bloggers to receive the "Stylish Award".
- A Grand Life
- A Punk, a Pumpkin and a Peanut
- Aly's Bloggity Blog
- Amy's Assorted Adventures
- Sh!t in the Bathtub

- Wheelchair Mommy

4. Let everyone know! Okay, so now you know. Go read some blogs :)
Oh my goodness -- that is so sweet! Congratulations to you, and thank you very much for giving me the Stylish Blogger Award. I am definitely honored. And humbled -- as I received it last month from another blogger. I won't make everybody read about me again by answering the questions again. :) But the original post is still up on my website.
ReplyDeleteEven before I read this post of yours, I liked your site so much I clicked your "top baby blogs" link! Best of luck!
Looking forward to a new blog friendship,
Melissa
